Submit Your Writing!

We are always eager to feature student writing. We want to celebrate your work and provide you a platform for sharing it with others. There are a couple options if you’re interested in submitting your work.

1. Submit your fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction

This is a great opportunity to find an audience for your creative work. We ask that your submission have minimal mature content (including profanity), and that if you want a picture included with your piece, to send that as well. Work can be sent in the body of the email or as an attached Word document, but please no Works documents. If you’re interested, email kayla.m.whaley[at]gmail[dot]com.

2. Write blog posts

Do you have a topic related to the craft, business, or art of writing you’d like to discuss? Do you want to share your approach to worldbuilding? How to write a compelling villain? What your writing process is? Blog posts should be anywhere from 400 to 1500 words. If you’re interested, email kayla.m.whaley[at]gmail[dot]com. If you already have topics in mind, please include those. If you want help brainstorming ideas, that’s fine too!

3. Weekly Writing Contest

Beginning November 1, 2013, we’ll begin hosting weekly writing contests! One student per month will win a $20 Amazon gift card! Check back in the coming weeks for more information.

4. Submit to Lit!

Lit! is AYWI’s student-led literary magazine. See the Lit! website for information on submitting.

We’re excited to hear from you and to read your work!
